Don and I were married in 1955. We moved to the family farm where we have lived ever since. The first ten years we raised strawberries, and Don also worked in the woods falling timber. By 1965 we built a new home. Now we raise grass seed and noble fir christmas trees, which keeps us busy most all the time.

We have three children, Twila, Scott and Chris:

Twila is a legal secretary, her husband Virgil is a contractor. They live near Willamette Vinyards and have three children (we are so proud of them). DeAnn will graduate from Cascade High in June as one of three valdictorians. She plans to study medicine. David will be traveling to England with his soccer team, the Cascade Surge, in July as a goalie. He will be sixteen in June and of course can't wait for his drivers license. Jeremy has worked with his father in construction since he graduated and has done wonderful. Jeremy and David both help us with harvest in July and August. We love having them here. It's great! That means grandma doesn't have to run any machines!

Scott our oldest son works here on the farm with us and lives near Brooks. He and his wife Jean have three boys, Daniel, Patrick, and Cameron. The two oldest are very involved in the soapbox derby. Daniel is hopeful he may go to Akron this year. Cameron is only three, a little too young yet to race, although he would like to. Jean, their mother, works for smuckers as a production manager.

Our youngest son, Chris, is an architect. He lives in Seattle and designs mostly school buildings. His wife Erin works for the Bon Marche' as a manager-of-systems trainer. Her work takes her all over the states.

Don enjoys farming so much it leaves little time for extra curricular activities. We do get away a couple times a year to meet some of his Silverton High School class mates in Laughlin Nevada , on the Colorado River. We were lucky enough to win a trip to Kauai a few years ago. We have now seen Maui and Oahu (my favorite). Don says next time Hawaii. Still waiting for that cruise, maybe for the up coming 45th anniversary.
