Deceased: 10-3-91 at age 54. Cause of death: cancer.

Survived by: his wife, Janice and two children (Sharon Klein and Douglas Eby) and two grandchildren.

Military: Gene was a member of the Air Force Reserve after high school and during college.

Education: Oregon State College, BA in business and BS in food technology.

Work: Gene worked for DelMonte Corp. and went to Puerto Rico for three years, where he was in charge of setting up a new tuna fish processing plant and quality control lab and training the locals how to run the plant. Later, 1965-69, Gene worked for Carnation Tuna at Terminal Island, California for three years.

In 1969 Gene started a business in Salem known as Cascade Floors, which sold and installed sanitary floors for food processing plants. He sold this company to his daughter and son-in-law and two employees. This company is still very successful today.

Gene and Jan were distributors for Herbalife products from 1982 until his death. Jan still continues to sell Herbalife. They were high-volume production bonus winners for the company two times in 1985.

Gene loved to travel. He had his private pilot's license and at one time owned his own Comanche airplane. The family was able to take many trips together.
