The following are excerpts from a letter Dan sent to Lee Hart dated: 9-20-99:

"I went through a divorce in 98 after 30 years of marriage. Was disabled from the roofing trade in '93 after many years in the trade. I am now semiretired - whatever that means. The Spring of '98 I moved up to a friends farm near Stanwood & helped him restore a log cabin. Since last November I have been helping him build a new house on his property. Now I am in Salt Lake City doing a roof inspection for a friend who has a roof consulting business. Next weekend back to Seattle & then to Tennessee for a two week Habitat For Humanity project. Then, I will probably be back in Salt Lake until that job is complete.

And yes, I am getting married next September. We plan to honeymoon in England and Norway, and then go to Alaska for the Summer on a mission project."
